Explanatory Note

This Bill requires the Minister of Health to develop, within twelve months of the coming into force of this Act, a pre-surgery care program to be implemented in all district health authorities.

An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 2004,
the Health Protection Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 4 of the Acts of 2004, the Health Protection Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 73 the following Section:

73A (1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister of Health shall, within twelve months of the coming into force of this Section, develop a pre-surgery care program to be implemented by each district health authority.

(2) The moneys required for the purpose of this Section shall be paid out of moneys appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
