Our downtown location makes it easy to get to Province House by car, bus, or bike.

Getting here

Halifax Transit offers many bus routes close to Province House. Most major routes travel along Barrington Street, one block west of Province House. The Scotia Square stop at Barrington and Duke Street is a hub for many major routes.

If you are biking to Province House, a bike stall is available on the grounds at the back entrance. A commissionaire is available to direct you.

Parking

There is no public parking on the grounds, but plenty of metered street parking nearby. The nearest spaces are on Hollis, Granville and George Streets, on the east, west and north sides of the grounds. Metered spaces are monitored by municipal parking enforcement from 8 am – 6 pm. Parking is free outside of these hours and on holidays and weekends. 

Please note that parking on Hollis Street between is prohibited during peak hours (7-9 am, Monday – Friday) and vehicles will be towed.

There are several privately-owned parking lots and parkades within walking distance of Province House.
