An Act to Increase Funding to the Justice System

1 This Act may be cited as the Justice System Improvement Act.

2 Subject to Section 3, the Government shall increase the funding provided to the justice system in the Province such that more

(a) judges may be appointed to the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia; and

(b) Crown attorneys may be hired,

for the purpose of decreasing the total amount of time that cases take to proceed through the Provincial Court.

3 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of the money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
