An Act to Provide for
Defraying Certain Charges and Expenses
of the Public Service of the Province

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Appropriations Act, 2005.

2 The several sums of money hereinafter stated are granted to Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor for the purpose of defraying the undermentioned several charges and expenses of the public service for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2006:

Department of Agriculture and Fisheries $ 44,113,000

Department of Community Services 716,174,000

Department of Education 1,074,377,000

Assistance to Universities, Department of Education 206,711,000

Department of Energy 9,619,000

Department of Environment and Labour 27,947,000

Department of Finance 16,858,000

Debt Servicing Costs, Department of Finance 1,017,065,000

Department of Health 2,559,740,000

Department of Justice 107,847,000

Department of Natural Resources 63,098,000

Communications Nova Scotia 4,091,000

Emergency Measures Organization of Nova Scotia 1,008,000

Executive Council 22,254,000

FOIPOP Review Office 254,000

Government Contributions to Benefit Plans 8,050,000

3 Notwithstanding Section 2, the sum chargeable to Capital Purchase Requirements may be expended in the period from April 1, 2005, to March 31, 2007, inclusive.

4 The said several sums shall be paid by the Minister of Finance subject to the provisions of the statutes in that behalf out of the moneys that are applicable to the several purposes for which the said several sums are granted.

5 This Act has effect on and after April 1, 2005.
