Explanatory Note

This Bill removes the authority of the Governor in Council to approve supplementary appropriations and gives that authority to the House of Assembly.

An Act to Amend Chapter 2
of the Acts of 2010,
the Finance Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 (1) Subsection 27(3) of Chapter 2 of the Acts of 2010, the Finance Act, is amended by striking out "Governor in Council" wherever it appears and substituting in each case "House of Assembly".

(2) Subsection 27(5) of Chapter 2 is repealed.

2 (1) Subsection 28(3) of Chapter 2 is amended by striking out "Governor in Council" wherever it appears and substituting in each case "House of Assembly".

(2) Subsection 28(4) of Chapter 2 is amended by striking out "Governor in Council" and substituting "House of Assembly".

(3) Subsection 28(5) of Chapter 2 is repealed.
