An Act to Amend Chapter 39
of the Acts of 2008,
the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Chapter 39 of the Acts of 2008, the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, is amended by adding immediately after Section 92 the following Section:(2) Notwithstanding any enactment, where the Council considers it necessary or advisable, the Municipality may enter into a taxation agreement with the Authority respecting the taxes payable to the Municipality by the Authority.
(3) A taxation agreement entered into pursuant to this Section does not apply with respect to property leased or occupied by a tenant of the Authority.
2 This Act has effect on and after April 1, 2014.
