Explanatory Note
This Bill provides for free annual testing for coliform bacteria in well-water used as a source of drinking water.
An Act to Amend Chapter 1
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Environment Act
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 This Act may be cited as the Free Well-water Testing Act.
2 Section 105 of Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Environment Act, as amended by Chapter 30 of the Acts of 2006 and Chapter 61 of the Acts of 2011, is further amended by adding immediately after subsection (4) the following subsection:
- (5) The Minister shall offer free annual testing for coliform bacteria in well-water used as a source of drinking water.
3 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
