An Act Respecting Code Critical
Accountability Reporting

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Code Critical Act.

2 Subject to Section 4, the Government shall, on an ongoing basis, collect data in the Province respecting

(a) the number of paramedics who have left employment;

(b) the average length of service of paramedics who have left employment;

(c) paramedic vacancies;

(d) the number of inadequately staffed ambulance and paramedic shifts;

(e) the adequacy of ambulance coverage in each of the management zones established under the regulations made under the Health Authorities Act;

(f) ambulance call volumes that exceed operational capacity;

(g) ambulance offload times;

(h) ambulance response times;

(i) paramedic shift overruns; and

(j) missed paramedic breaks.

3 On a monthly basis, the Government shall prepare and publicly release an accountability report outlining the data collected under Section 2 for the previous month.

4 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
