Explanatory Notes

Clause 1 changes the date for completion of the annual financial audit of the accounts of the House of Assembly from September 1st to November 30th.

Clause 2 removes the Audit Committee's duty to review the financial statements and to recommend their approval by the Commission.

Clause 3 removes the requirement that a financial statement audit be part of the annual audit of the House of Assembly accounts.

An Act to Amend Chapter 5
of the Acts of 2010,
the House of Assembly Management Commission Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clause 11(3)(c) of Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2010, the House of Assembly Management Commission Act, is amended by striking out "September 1st" in the third line and substituting "November 30th."

2 Clause 18(1)(d) of Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2010 is repealed and the following clause substituted:

    (d) review the audit report and recommendations of the auditor and give advice about them to the Commission;

3 (1) Clause 22(5)(a) of Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2010 is repealed.

(2) Clause 22(7)(a) of Chapter 5 is amended by

(a) striking out the comma immediately after "report" in the second line and substituting "and the"; and

(b) striking out "and a copy of the audited financial statements' in the second and third lines.
