Short title
1 This Act may be cited as the Long Term Disability Plan Ratification Act. 1992, c. 6, s. 1.
Ratification of amendments to Plan
2 Amendments to the Nova Scotia Public Service Long Term Disability Plan contained in a Memorandum of Agreement signed in February, 1992, entered into by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union and Her Majesty in right of the Province, represented in this behalf by the Nova Scotia Civil Service Commission, and ratified by the members of the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union on the third day of April, 1992, thereafter contained in an Agreement dated the thirtieth day of April, 1992, entered into between the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union and the Civil Service Commission, which Agreement forms part of the collective agreements as defined in clause (e) of Section 2 of the Civil Service Collective Bargaining Act, are hereby ratified and confirmed, and shall have the force of law on, from and after the sixth day of April, 1992, until varied in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreements. 1992, c. 6, s. 2.
Ratification respecting non-N.S.G.E.U. employees
3 Where amendments to the same effect as those referred to in Section 2
(a) are made by regulation, pursuant to the Civil Service Act, for those persons not covered by the collective agreements referred to in Section 2;
(b) apply to employees of participating outside organizations which have entered into participating agreements with the Trustees of the Nova Scotia Public Service Long Term Disability Plan,
those amendments are hereby ratified and confirmed, and shall have the force of law on, from and after the sixth day of April, 1992, until varied by regulation or participating agreement, as the case may be. 1992, c. 6, s. 3.
Payment of benefits
4 Effective the sixth day of April, 1992, the Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan shall pay long term disability plan benefits in accordance with the Plan as amended pursuant to Sections 2 and 3 regardless of when a person was first entitled to receive benefits and regardless of any entitlement which arose prior to the sixth day of April, 1992. 1992, c. 6, s. 4.
