(a) declares the Nova Scotia Tartan to be the official tartan of Nova Scotia;
(b) sets out a technical description of the Tartan;
(c) sets out what the colours in the Tartan represent;
(d) updates references to the Minister; and
(e) declares April 6th to be Tartan Day.
1 Section 2 of Chapter 318 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Nova Scotia Tartan Act, is amended by
(a) adding "originally" immediately after "proportions" in the second line; and
(b) adding "now set out in the Schedule, and" immediately after "and" in the fourth line.
2 Chapter 318 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 2 the following Sections:
2B The blue and white in the Tartan represent the sea, the greens represent the forests, the red represents the Royal Lion on the shield in the Arms of the Province and the gold represents the Province's Royal Charter.
4 Chapter 318 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 8 the following Section and Schedule:
