Explanatory Note

This Bill repeals provisions of the Corrections Act that are no longer relevant as result of the appointment of corrections employees to the Civil Service and makes a consequential amendment to the Correctional Services Act.

An Act to Amend Chapter 103
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Corrections Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clauses 4(a) and (d), Sections 6 to 8 and 11, clauses 22(1)(aa) to (ac), subsections 22(2) and (3), Section 23 and Schedule A of Chapter 103 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Corrections Act, are repealed.

2 Subsection 93(1) of Chapter 37 of the Acts of 2005, the Correctional Services Act, is repealed.

3 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
