Sea, Army and Air Cadets Training Recognition Act

WHEREAS young people who participate in the Royal Canadian Sea, Army and Air Cadets should be recognized for their dedication to their communities and their country;

AND WHEREAS young Nova Scotians involved in the Royal Canadian Sea, Army and Air Cadets learn valuable life and work skills that will benefit them and their communities no matter what path they choose to follow;

AND WHEREAS Nova Scotia has a proud tradition of community service and the Royal Canadian Sea, Army and Air Cadets are an important part of that history, in the positive contributions cadets make in their communities each and every day;

2 In this Act, "credit" means a credit required to be earned by a student in order to receive a Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma.

3 Any educational institution that grants Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diplomas based on credits shall grant two credits to any student of the institution who, while attending grade nine, ten, eleven or twelve at that or another educational institution, has, as a cadet, completed at least three years' satisfactory cadet training in the Royal Canadian Sea, Army or Air Cadets.

4 For the purpose of Section 3, a cadet has completed one year's satisfactory cadet training in the Royal Canadian Sea, Army or Air Cadets if the cadet has worked one hundred hours during a twelve-month period doing work that is approved as satisfactory cadet training by
