Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the Police Act to require all police officers with information respecting a victim of crime to provide information to a victim services program offered by the police officer's department or to the Director of Victim Services in the Department of Justice.

An Act to Amend Chapter 31
of the Acts of 2004,
the Police Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 42 the following Section:

2 Subsection 97(1) of Chapter 31 is amended by adding immediately after clause (ap) the following clause:

3 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
