Explanatory Note

The purpose of this Bill is to empower the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal to prevent a vexatious litigant from starting new proceedings or continuing existing proceedings.

An Act to Amend Chapter 240
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Judicature Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 240 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Judicature Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 45 the following Sections:

2 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
