This Bill amends the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act to provide that the Minister cannot consider a person's first $5,000 of employment income each year when determining the level of assistance for that person under the Act.

1 Chapter 27 of the Acts of 2000, the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 7 the following Section:

7A Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or the regulations, the Minister shall not consider the first five thousand dollars of employment income received in a calendar year by a person after the coming into force of this Section in determining the level of income assistance to that person under this Act.
