Explanatory Note

This Bill authorizes the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to transfer a vehicle, of a person in respect of whom a certificate of default of payment of all or part of a fine or costs imposed upon conviction for an offence under any federal statute and payable to the Province has been sent to the Registrar, to a bona fide purchaser of the vehicle for value without notice of the default.

An Act to Amend Chapter 40
of the Acts of 2005,
the Enforcement of Court Orders Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 3 of Chapter 40 of the Acts of 2005, the Enforcement of Court Orders Act, as amended by Chapter 15 of the Acts of 2006, is further amended by adding immediately after subsection (2) the following subsection:

2 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
