Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the Municipal Government Act to authorize all municipalities to ban the cosmetic use of pesticides.

An Act to Amend Chapter 18
of the Acts of 1998,
the Municipal Government Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clause 172(1)(j) of Chapter 18 of the Acts of 1998, the Municipal Government Act, is amended by striking out the last five lines and substituting " but, for greater certainty, not the regulation of the application and use of pesticides, herbicides and insecticides on property used for agricultural or forestry purposes".

2 Section 533 of Chapter 18 is repealed.
