Explanatory Note
This Bill amends the Consumer Reporting Act to permit a consumer reporting agency to charge a reasonable fee for access by a consumer through the Internet
to the consumer's own information.
An Act to Amend Chapter 93
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Consumer Reporting Act
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Section 12 of Chapter 93 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Consumer Reporting Act, is
amended by adding immediately after subsection (3) the following subsection:
(3A) The disclosures required by this Section may, at the request
of the consumer, be made through the Internet upon the payment by the consumer of a reasonable fee.
