An Act to Require the Minister
of Health to Establish a Comprehensive
Province-wide Palliative Care Program

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Palliative Care Act.

2 Subject to Section 3, the Minister of Health shall, on or before December 31, 2008, after consultation with the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association and the district health authorities, establish and implement a comprehensive palliative care program for the Province.

3 The sums required for the purpose of this Act shall be paid out of moneys appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
