Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act to ensure that

(a) the Government does not consider the new $100.00 per month federal child-care allowance as income for the purpose of calculating assistance under the Act; and

(b) the Government does not seize or garnish the allowance due to an overpayment of assistance under the Act.

of the Acts of 2000,

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 3 of Chapter 27 of the Acts of 2000 is amended by adding immediately after clause (c) the following clause:
