Explanatory Note

This Bill removes, effective January 1, 2005, the "grow-in benefits" under the Pension Benefits Act.

An Act to Amend Chapter 340
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Pension Benefits Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 77(2) of Chapter 340 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Pension Benefits Act, as amended by Chapter 21 of the Acts of 2002, is further amended by striking out everything after "therefor" in the fifth line to the end of the subsection and substituting a period.

2 Clause 78(1)(c) of Chapter 340 is repealed.

3 Section 79 of Chapter 340 is repealed.

4 This Act has effect on and after January 1, 2005, upon the Governor in Council so ordering and declaring by proclamation.
