An Act to Prohibit the Taking
of a Photograph with a
Camera Phone in a Prohibited Place

1 This Act may be cited as the Camera Phone Prohibition Act.

2 In this Act,

(a) "camera phone" means a cellular telephone capable of taking a photograph of any kind;

(b) "prohibited place" means a changing room, locker room or public washroom or an area designated as a prohibited place in the regulations.

3 No person shall take a photograph of any kind with a camera phone in a prohibited place.

4 A person who violates this Act is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to the penalties provided in the Summary Proceedings Act.

5 (1) The Governor in Council may make regulations

(a) designating prohibited places for the purpose of clause 2(b);

(b) defining any word or expression used but not defined in this Act;

(c) deemed necessary or advisable to carry out effectively the intent and purpose of this Act.

(2) The exercise by the Governor in Council of the authority contained in subsection (1) is regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act.
