Explanatory Notes

Clauses 1 and 2 change the name of The Nova Scotia Drama League to Theatre Nova Scotia.

Clause 3 adds to the objects of the Nova Scotia Theatre.

Clause 4 vests the property of the League in Theatre Nova Scotia.

Clauses 5 and 6 change the references to "The Nova Scotia Drama League" to "Theatre Nova Scotia".

Clause 7 provides that the Act comes into force on proclamation.

An Act to Amend Chapter 99
of the Acts of 1951,
An Act to Incorporate
The Nova Scotia Drama League

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 The title of Chapter 99 of the Acts of 1951, An Act to Incorporate The Nova Scotia Drama League, is amended by striking out "The Nova Scotia Drama League" and substituting "Theatre Nova Scotia".

2 Chapter 99 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 1 the following Section:

3 Section 2 of Chapter 99 is repealed and the following Section substituted:

4 Upon the coming into force of Section 1A, all property belonging to or held in trust for the League shall vest in and belong to Theatre Nova Scotia.

5 Chapter 99, except for Section 8, is further amended by striking out "the League" or "The league" wherever they appear in Chapter 99 and substituting "Theatre Nova Scotia".

6 A reference in any enactment or document to The Nova Scotia Drama League shall, as regards any subsequent transaction, matter or thing, be read as a reference to Theatre Nova Scotia.

7 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
