This Bill changes the name of The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association to the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia.

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 The name of The Nova Scotia Licensed Funeral Directors Association, a body corporate, incorporated by Chapter 119 of the Acts of 1933, An Act to Incorporate The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association, is changed to the "Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia".

2 The title of Chapter 119, as enacted by Chapter 71 of the Acts of 1978, is amended by striking out "The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association" and substituting "the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia".

3 Chapter 119 is further amended by renumbering Section 1 as Section 1A and adding immediately before that Section the following Section:

1 This Act may be cited as the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia Act.

4 Section 1 of Chapter 119, as amended by Chapter 71 of the Acts of 1978 and renumbered as Section 1A by this Act, is further amended by striking out "The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association" in the last two lines and substituting "the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia".

5 A reference in any enactment or document to The Licensed Embalmers' Association or The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association shall, as regards any subsequent transaction, matter or thing, be held and construed to be a reference to the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia.

6 No rights, duties, obligations or liabilities of The Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association of Nova Scotia are in any way affected by the changes of name made by this Act or Chapter 71 and those rights, duties, obligations and liabilities continue to be vested in and are binding upon it under the name "Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia".

7 Subsections 6(1) and 7(3) of Chapter 144 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Embalmers and Funeral Directors Act, are amended by striking out "The Nova Scotia Licensed Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association" and substituting in each case "the Funeral Service Association of Nova Scotia".
