An Act to Authorize the Municipality
of the County of Inverness
to Make a Contribution to the
Pension Plan of Past Employees now
Employed with the Province or with
Other Agencies or Commissions

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Municipality of Inverness Supplementary Pension Contribution Act.

2 In this Act, "municipality" means the Municipality of the County of Inverness.

3 The municipality is hereby authorized to make a monetary contribution to the pension plans of

(a) employees who were moved from their employment with the municipality to employment with the Province pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding Respecting Short Term Policy Initiatives and Comprehensive Review of Roles and Responsibilities between the Province and the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities dated April 7 and 9, 1998 and who are still employed with the Province; and

(b) employees who were moved to other agencies or commissions and who are still employed with those agencies or commissions,

so as to compensate for a deficiency in the funding of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, Client No. RS071842, Registered Pension Plan UNSM - County of Inverness Sub Group No. 0018, with respect to those employees.

4 All sums paid pursuant to this Act shall be held to be sums required for the ordinary lawful purposes of the municipality and shall be raised, levied and collected in the same manner and in all respects as other sums required for the ordinary lawful purposes of the municipality are raised, levied and collected.
