Explanatory Notes

Clause 1 replaces the definition of "aggrieved person" with a definition of "interested person" in Parts VIII and IX of the Municipal Government Act dealing with planning and development and subdivision matters.

Clauses 2 and 3 replace references to an "aggrieved person" with references to an "interested person" in Sections 247 and 250 of the Municipal Government Act.

An Act to Amend Chapter 18
of the Acts of 1998,
the Municipal Government Act,
to Expand Standing Before the
Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 191 of Chapter 18 of the Acts of 1998, the Municipal Government Act, is amended by

(a) striking out clause (a); and

(b) adding immediately after clause (g) the following clause:

2 (1) Clause 247(1)(a) of Chapter 18 is amended by striking out "aggrieved" and substituting "interested".

(2) Clause 247(2)(a) of Chapter 18 is amended by striking out "aggrieved" and substituting "interested".

3 Subsection 250(1) of Chapter 18 is amended by striking out "aggrieved" in the first line and substituting "interested".
