An Act to Exempt Dartmouth Senior Care
Society and Certain Property of the Dartmouth
Senior Care Society from Municipal Taxation

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Dartmouth Senior Care Society Tax Exemption Act.

2 In this Act, "Society" means the Dartmouth Senior Care Society, incorporated pursuant to the Societies Act.

3 Notwithstanding any other enactment,

(a) the real property, known as Oakwood Terrace, of the Society is exempt from taxation for municipal purposes as long as the property is owned by the Society and used as a non-profit special care facility for aged persons; and

(b) the Society is exempt from taxation for municipal purposes that is levied by reason of the occupation or use of that real property by the Society.

4 This Act has effect on and after April 1, 1996.
