Explanatory Notes

Clause 1 amends the regulation-making authority of the Governor in Council to enable the Governor in Council to exempt from the Petroleum Resources Removal Act a person who has signed a petrochemical supply agreement with the Province.

Clause 2 provides that the effective date of the Act will be March 1, 2000, rather than November 1, 1999.

Clause 3 provides that this Act has effect on and after October 31, 1999.

An Act to Amend Chapter 7
of the Acts of 1999,
the Petroleum Resources
Removal Permit Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 22(1) of Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1999, the Petroleum Resources Removal Permit Act, is amended by adding immediately after clause (a) the following clause:

2 Subsection 23(1) of Chapter 7 is amended by striking out "November 1, 1999" in the second line and substituting "March 1, 2000".

3 This Act has effect on and after October 31, 1999.
