An Act to Prohibit New Tolls
on Public Highways in Nova Scotia

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Toll Highway Prohibition Act.

2 In this Act, "highway" means a highway, or part of a highway, maintained in whole or in part by or on behalf of Her Majesty in right of the Province for the use of the public.

3 No toll shall be charged for the operation of any vehicle on any highway in the Province unless such a toll was charged in respect of that highway before the coming into force of this Act.

4 For greater certainty, this Act applies to a highway whether the highway was constructed before or after the coming into force of this Act.
