Claudia Chender is the MLA for Dartmouth South and NDP House Leader. She is the critic for Justice, the Status of Women, Economic Development, Natural Resources and Renewables, and Fisheries and Aquaculture. She was first elected in 2017.
Claudia sits on the following committees: Public Accounts, Law Amendments, Natural Resources and Economic Development, Internal Affairs, Assembly Matters, and House of Assembly Management Commission.
Claudia is an engaged community member and mother of three school-aged children. She is a long-time member of the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission where she now sits ex-officio and is a vocal advocate for the promotion of the vibrant, eclectic, and locally owned and supported downtown Dartmouth business community.
As a lawyer with experience in business and publishing, Claudia has a wide range of experiences that she brings to bear as a tireless advocate for the residents of Dartmouth South.
She is a member of the Public Accounts, Assembly Matters, Internal Affairs, Law Amendments and Natural Resources and Economic Development Committees. She is also a member of the House of Assembly Management Commission.
