Explanatory Note

This Bill

(a) removes the requirement on the winding up of the Yarmouth Golf and Country Club for the proceeds of sale of the properties and assets, less the debts and liabilities, to be divided among the shareholders; and

(b) replaces it with a requirement to pay said proceeds to a similar non-profit entity agreed to by the majority of shareholders.

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 6 of Chapter 228 of the Acts of 1920, An Act to Incorporate The Yarmouth Golf and Country Club, is amended by striking out "divided among the shareholders in proportion to the number of paid up shares owned by each" in the sixth and seventh lines and substituting "paid to such similar non-profit entity as the majority of shareholders agree".
