Explanatory Note

This Bill prohibits fees or deposits for children waiting for offer of admission to family child-care homes or other child-care facilities.

An Act to Amend Chapter 120
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Early Learning and Child Care Act,
to End Child Care Wait-list Fees or Deposits

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 120 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Early Learning and Child Care Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 7B the following Section:

    7C No fee or deposit for admission of a child to a family child-care home or other facility before the child is offered admission to the facility may be charged or accepted by any person.
