Explanatory Note

This Bill requires the Governor in Council to define the term "high-volume hydraulic fracturing" for the purpose of the Petroleum Resources Act before September 30, 2016.

An Act to Provide Clarity
for On-shore Petroleum Resource Development

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 The Governor in Council shall make regulations defining high-volume hydraulic fracturing for the purpose of Section 11A of the Petroleum Resources Act on or before September 30, 2016.
