An Act to Establish a Holiday in February

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the February Holiday Act.

2 The third Monday in February in 2015 and in each subsequent year shall be kept and observed throughout the Province under such name as the Governor in Council determines.

3 Clause 7(1)(j) of Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Interpretation Act, is amended by adding ", the third Monday in February" immediately before "and" in the sixth line.

4 Subsection 37(1) of Chapter 246 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Labour Standards Code, is amended by adding ", the third Monday in February" immediately before "and" in the third line.

5 Clause 2(e) of Chapter 402 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Retail Business Uniform Closing Day Act, is amended by adding immediately after subclause (viii) the following subclause:

(viiia) third Monday in February,

6 Clause 2(a) of Chapter 32 of the Acts of 2007, the Retail Business Designated Day Closing Act, is amended by adding immediately after subclause (viii) the following subclause:

(viiia) third Monday in February,

7 This Act has effect on and after January 1, 2015.
