An Act to Amend Chapter 293
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Motor Vehicle Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 (1) Clause 191(1)(h) of Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Motor Vehicle Act, is amended by

(a) striking out "highways or" in the first line; and

(b) striking out "or portions" in the first and second lines.

(2) Section 191 of Chapter 293, as amended by Chapter 36 of the Acts of 1990, Chapter 12 of the Acts of 1994-95 and Chapter 12 of the Acts of 2001, is further amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following subsection:

(1A) The Minister may make regulations prescribing highways or portions of highways that are included in any of the classes of highways that are prescribed in regulations made pursuant to subsection (1).

(3) Subsection 191(4) of Chapter 293 is repealed and the following subsection substituted:

(4) The exercise by the Minister of the authority contained in subsections (1) and (1A) is regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act.

2 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
