Explanatory Note
This Bill requires that ten per cent of the net lottery ticket revenue received by the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation be used to support sport and recreation programs and facilities.
An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Gaming Control Act
1 Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Gaming Control Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 29 the following Section:
29A (1) Notwithstanding subsection 29(1) but subject to subsection (2) of this Section, at least ten per cent of the net revenues received by the Corporation each year from a licensed lottery scheme must be used by the Minister to support sport and recreation programs and facilities in the Province.
(2) The sums required for the purpose of subsection (1) shall be paid out of moneys appropriated by the Legislature for that purpose and nothing in subsection (1) affects the appropriation or expenditure of moneys not appropriated for that purpose.
